Information we collect

• Account registration: name, email address and password (stored as a hash, never in plain text) if you create a MoverScout account.
• Quote requests: when you request a free quote, we collect your phone number (required) and, optionally, your name, email, move dates and move details.
• Reviews: if you write a review on MoverScout, it's tied to your account and goes through moderation before it's published.
• Partner applications: if a moving company applies to join our network or contacts us, we collect the business and contact details submitted in that form.
• Basic usage data: standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages visited) for security and to keep the site running.

Moving company data shown on the site

Licensing, insurance and safety information about moving companies comes from public federal FMCSA records — it's public data, not personal data we collect from individuals. Reviews and ratings shown for each company are aggregated from public Google and Yelp listings, alongside reviews submitted directly on MoverScout.

How we use it

To run your account, show you your saved favorites and quote history, moderate and publish reviews, and — for quote requests — to pass your request along to moving companies so they can respond to you. We don't sell your personal information.

Cookies

We use a session cookie to keep you logged in and to protect forms from cross-site attacks (CSRF). We don't currently run third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
