Frequently asked questions
For moving companies considering MoverScout.
Do I need to sign up to appear on MoverScout?
Probably not — if your company holds active FMCSA operating authority, you're likely already listed automatically from federal registration data. "Joining the network" through our registration form is separate: it flags your business to our team as an active, engaged partner and lets you tell us more than the public FMCSA record shows.
Is it free?
Yes, right now there's no cost to be listed or to submit a partner application. We're early — if that ever changes, we'll be upfront about it rather than switching on charges quietly.
How do customer leads work?
Customers browse licensed movers by city, compare licensing/insurance/reviews, and submit a free quote request. We're still building out the process for routing those requests directly to partner companies — for now, being a verified partner puts you first in line as that rolls out.
Where does my company's data come from?
Your USDOT number, MC number, insurance and safety data come from public FMCSA records. Reviews are aggregated from Google and Yelp, plus reviews submitted directly on MoverScout. We don't edit or invent any of it.
Something on my listing is wrong — how do I fix it?
Submit a partner application or reach out through Contact Us with the correction and we'll look into it. Since licensing/insurance data comes from federal records, some corrections may need to be fixed at the FMCSA source first.
What do I need to qualify as a partner?
Active USDOT operating authority is the baseline. We also look at insurance status and safety record — companies with a stronger track record get prioritized as we build out lead distribution.
